PlottingPreachingThe sight
From 1874 – 1963 was a time of the World Wars along with the Korean War. The Great Depression gripped the country of America in its steely claws. Making a living was hard for all people especially upcoming writers; Robert Frostwas one of those, but wrote about the simple pleasures of this world. For instance, “Stopping by Woods on Snowing Evening” is a poem about the simplistic joy of being outside. Overcoming hardships, raising a family, and keeping up the spirits of all who read his works that is what Robert’s life was like. 1914 was the year The Great War, better known as World War I. The war started when Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated in the city of Sarajev, by a man named Gavrilo Princip. Francis was to be heir of Austria- Hungary when the crown prince died. He and his wife were in a motorcade when they were gunned down by Gavrilo Princip and seven of his men. Historians believed this, “…provided 'justification' for Austria to take hard action against Serbia.” (World Book, #) Germany told Austria that they had their support against Serbia. Shortly after this, Germany proclaimed war Russia; two days after that Germany declared war on France, and invaded Belgium. The next day Britain declared war on Germany. The United States joined the fray on April 6, 1917.

“Born and raised in Texas is my” motto, Amarillo, Texas, to be exact. My parents call me their miracle baby, because I was hard to conceive. We lived in Amarillo until the end of my first year of kindergarten. When we moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, I repeated kindergarten. I did this because it was a full day of school, where we learned more than our names and addresses. We lived in that rent house for two years.
We had a house built, Arlington, Texas, and it was just how we wanted it, and by “we” I mean my mother. We lived in that house for six years we grew, in age, maturity, and as a family in that house. I learned how to ride horses during this time of my life. I learned how to teach a horse to jump, how to execute the movement, how to manipulate the horse to do as I ask, how to use English tack, and how to respect these large magnificent animals while receiving respect from them. I made my second real friend while living in that house, but sadly I met her my last year living there.

Barefoot in the shallow creek I grabbed some stones from underneath And waited for you to speak to me
In the silence it became so very clear That you had long ago disappeared I cursed myself for being surprised That this didn't play like it did in my mind
All the way from San Francisco As I chased the end of your road Because I've still got miles to go
And I want to know my fate If I keep up this way
And it's hard to want to stay awake When everyone you meet, they all seem to be asleep And you wonder if you're missing a dream You can't see a dream

And oh what creatures did roam here. Her golden back rippled beneath the slivers of sunlight that had managed to filter through the network of rusting metal and fading plastic. Slowly she pulled herself to her feet, arching her back against the sharp edge of the metal steps as she did so. Sending a tingle along her spine. Yes there were few places deserted around here anymore. Wolves foxes .dogs they were everywhere. It seemed solitude was impossible to find anymore.unless you wandered somewhere no one else cared to venture like an old broken down amusement park. Familiar smells still lingered here, bits of tobacco that had been spit out still stunk to high heaven, the smells of burned rubber and oil ruminated beneath the rides only to arise on a hot summers day more powerful than they had ever been before. No Pip did not like it here. She hated it actually. Anything that reminded her of those final days when her humans still existed..Even then the population had been dwindling. But few had given it much thought. She remembered the strong grip around her neck, depriving her of air. Through blurred eyes she watched as the shiny metal was lifted to her head .The pain had been horrid. But that was gone now all that lingered was memories, and what was left of her ears.
With a physical shake of her skull she attempted to dispel the thoughts. She was so caught up inside her own head that Pip did not even notice the large beast that had slipped into carnival grounds without her noticing. Immediately the golden female went rigid. Lowering her body down closer to her white licked paws. Normally Pip would just ignore the presence of another canine she did not fear them, with her powerful jaws and stocky body she had felt the power in her own jaws as they crushed bone. She knew she was a match for nearly any beast she would encounter. But now now there was more at stake. Her belly had not yet begun to swell but the primal beast within her knew that new life swelled within her Something so sacred that Pip had never chanced such an undertaking before. In her five years of life she had never succumbed to her urges until now. Her relationship with the guardians was still precarious, she was yet to find out if she would be accepted into their ranks. In the mean time she was trying to keep herself out of harms way though somehow trouble always seemed to find the golden beast.
Her pink tongue slid slowly across her lips as she watched the male proceed..wolf.husky? A hybrid maybe? His deep voice carried easily across the silent landscape, she was not the only one who this place set on edge. Her tail moved slowly back and forth as she tried to decide on a course of action. Having never been in such a position before left her vulnerable.and while she waited for acceptance into a pack her unborn pups would be especially so. At the calls of a small bird Pip hesitantly lifted her honey hued eyes from the brute, watching as the tiny yellow creature hopped along a rusty bar. As it pushed off with its tiny legs the aged bar gave in, with a moan the small shred of metal began to fall. Crashing to the ground only a few feet to the left of Pip. She had fallen to a crouch as it fell, ready to move if needed But the bar had not hit her.it had only drawn the attention of anything with ears. Quickly her head snapped back to see the beast, waiting to see his response to her.And depending on his actions she would gauge her own response.
