It was time for a pack meeting, where it would be made certain that all the members of his pack were accounted for and given appropriate ranks. At the moment, there were very few dogs with official ranks within the pack.
The wind was nothing but a slight breeze coming out of the impact site, and Arthur had no trouble envisioning his surroundings. Hephaestus, his chipmunk companion, sat on the retriever mutts head, watching out for anything Arthur would need to be aware of. "Arthur, watch out for the edge, your right on it!"

[/i] Arthur just shook his head softly. "Don't worry, Heph, I know where I am. You worry too much," he chuckled. "Just relax, brother." With that, he jumped down to the ground and made his way toward the center, where the ground was flat and hard instead of the rocky terrain that surrounded it. Hephaestus moved to a comfortable spot between Arthur's strong shoulders as the dog raised his head and let out a long howl. The shape of the crater would make his voice audible through the whole island, which is why many meetings where held here. Arthur sat down to wait for his pack mates to show up for the meeting. they call her love, love, love, love, love Karma was walking rather slowly to the pack meeting; it’s not that she didn’t want to go. She just was never excited about them; she let out a small sigh and saw the crater come into sight. She would much rather be in a open field of flowers which went on for miles and then when it got dark she would find out that she was a little lost but somehow end up home before it was too dark. It was hard to walk around in the area and had always wondered way the made the meetings in such a hard rocky place. It wasn’t a fun walk to the meeting, very boring she thought. She came up to the top and looked around, there was hardly anyone here. She was early and she let out another sigh. She didn’t particularly like being early either; less people meant more talking for her.
She made her way down the side and noticed the pack leader, a Golden Retriever like her mom. Her eyes were on him for a little while then she told herself to stop, she had always wondered what her mother would look now. Would she look like the pack leader or maybe have grey fur. She shook her head, don’t you learn? She thought, don’t think about that right now. She put on a small smile and sat down in a spot slightly away from other dogs but not far enough to be unsocial.

Dove!
Not a great deal had changed since Dove arrived at the Islands. She still saw very few others, spoke with even fewer, and spent much of her time alone in thought. Her days had been filled with essential things like scouting out sources of fresh water inland of the surrounding seas and catching small bits of prey that would satisfy her at least until the next day. While it all felt somewhat routine and habitual, she was secretly disappointed in it. Because, despite many things remaining the same, one very big thing had happened after she arrived here. She had joined a pack. But it hardly felt like it.
As the Dalmatian mix lay within her recently dug burrow, gazing out into the swooping bowl of the crater that was the center of her pack's territory, she considered the current circumstances. After allying herself with these dogs, she had expected to see many canines roaming around, socializing and sharing meals, romping and playing, huddling close on cold nights. But instead she had seen maybe fleeting glimpses of them if she saw them at all. It was disheartening to know her pack was so small while their territory felt so vast, but with her allegiances already announced they might as well have been etched in stone. She couldn't leave.
Her brown eyes lowered from the opening to gaze at the dry earth in front of her outstretched paws, and out of boredom she reached out with the right to bat at a clump of dirt. The minimal contact was enough to crumble the ball into a dusty pile, and she sighed over how quickly it was demolished. When she thought she might succumb to another nap, a loud, echoing howl resounded from the center of the crater and hit her ears with great force. They tucked reflexively from the sudden onslaught of sound but once the tone and voice were identified a new spark had entered the dog's eyes. The Alpha? It felt like such a long time since she had seen him and gained acceptance into the pack with its meager array of loyal members, and though he appeared just and kind he was still as much a mystery as the rest of them. Dutifully, the black and white canine rose to her paws and crawled out of the burrow, pausing a moment to shake the dust and dirt from her coat before setting off down the incline toward the center of the crater.
Again, there was a touch of disappointment. She could see them already as she tread carefully down the side of the crater, a single golden retriever and another, only two from this large island to have gathered at this meeting. Trotting toward their intimate gathering, Dove averted her gaze as both befitted a low ranking individual but also to hide the sadness she felt at these lands feeling so deserted. It wouldn't do for her new pack and family to see these things from a glance. Tail resting against her legs, ears settled back meekly against her skull, the black and white dog slowed and eventually came to a stop nearby the already present two, glancing between them uncertainly before she took a seat to wait.

It had been a few minutes since his howl had echoed across the island, and he was hoping that his pack would come together. He needed to bring the dogs of Crater Island together, or he feared the pack would not last. Finally, he heard the steps of another dog approaching. His ears perked up, and he sniffed the air to identify the dog. He recognized the scent as Karma, a female who had recently joined the pack. He nodded to her.
"The meeting will start as soon as more show up," he said, in a friendly but distracted tone. He really hoped somebody else would show soon. He sat silently, waiting, and suddenly he felt like he was being stared at. He shifted his weight and looked in Karma's direction, though his eyes did not see, and then turned away. After another moment of nothing happening, he heard once again the light steps of a pack member. A quick sniff revealed the arrivals identity as Dove, another very recent joiner. Arthur sighed. Although there were only two pack members there, he needed to begin. He stood up, and Heph scrambled to perch on top of his head. He lifted his muzzle to once again announce the meeting before starting to speak.
"Okay, this meeting must begin. Thank you two for showing up. I must say, I am pleased to see two new members being the ones to show up to a pack meeting on time," He said, before continuing. "As you both have probably noticed, our pack isn't quite a true pack as of now. Yes, the dogs inhabiting this island are allied, and follow the same laws, but we hardly see each other, we are not organized as a pack should be. This island is large, and good territory for us, but since we are not a true pack, we have no guarantee of keeping it and our own lives and freedom for ourselves. We must come together, and create a pack that is strong and stable. This is why I called this meeting, but, as you can see, I am sure, Many in this land don't even recognize their own leaders call to assemble. I only have been the leader of this pack for a while, but I do take responsibility for it still being in this condition. There must be change, and it has to happen soon. We are a peaceful pack, but we must show that we are united and strong, or I fear that the dogs of the Starkissed Island will take the chance to invade and take everything we have. Do either of you have any idea how we can accomplish the goals necessary to form a stable pack?" He ended his speech with a question, and it wasn't rhetorical. Yes he was the leader, but nobody could do this for themselves, and he needed help. He sat down, waiting hopefully for a response from Dove or Karma, all the while staying alert for any new arrivals.
