CREATION STORY Many moons ago, the great wolf Tianare walked the Earth. She stood as tall as the trees in the center of our home and her fur was softer than the fresh spring grass. There was only one other on the Earth like her, and that was her lover, Kistorna. He and she walked for many of their own moons until Tianare became lonely, wishing she had another creature with her. Feeling hurt at not being enough for her, Kistorna confronted Tianare, claiming that she no longer loved him. They fought for many seasons, causing ethe great depths of the Earth and forcing the rising of mountains. This went on until one day, Tianare collapsed into the depths, exhaustd from the great battle. Kistorna realized what he had done and felt the stab of realization cut him through the heart. He howled with all his might, starting the first winds, and tears the size of our dens poured from his eyes. The water from his tears created the vast oceans and soaked the fallen Tianare. The love that Kistorna felt for her was proven by those tears and the magic that this world used to hold flowed from them into the mouth of our fallen ancestor. Tianare kicked her powerful paws against the bottom of the depths, breaking through the surface of the ocean and leaping to Kistorna's side. All was forgiven, and that next spring, the first wolf pups were born. After that day, every spring brought more and more wolves to populate the earth with it. Springs flew by, Kistorna and Tianare grew older and watched their pups have pups, until the wolves starting changing into things that didn't look like wolves. Some were very small, some had shorter muzzles, and some had oddly colored coats not found on wolves. These were the foxes, and the dingos, and the dogs, and all the other canines, and Tianare and Kistorna loved them all for their uniqueness. But some of these new dogs were not happy with the love of our ancestors. No, they were greedy, unfulfilled and selfish dogs. Killers of their own kind. This troubled Tianare, who did not want to see her children harmed. It pained her to think this, but she thought that if she could remove the one causing the most trouble, the others would fall in line. And so, she took the life of her most evil child. This did not stop the hate, it only increased some dogs rage, but Tianare could not bear to harm another of her pups. So, she and Kistorna banished them all. Tianare could not take the pain of this, and so she asked Kistorna to lay with her beside the mainland, where all of Earths soil was held. As she lay down beside her love, her heart gave out, and she rolled into the sea, her body forming the islands that are now our home. Kistorna, now having lost his love twice, let out a howl much worse than before. Dogs and wolves alike heard the howl and knew what it meant, even before they felt the Earth tremble at their father's collapse. Kistorna could not live without his love and his heart had broken. Our ancestor's fall caused the earth to shatter and split groups of dogs and wolves. The evil separated from the good, and our closest ancestors went to live upon the islands of our ancient fallen mother. Some could not bear to be near their fallen parents, and decided to stay away by choice. The banished evil ones were held away by the magic the earth once held.

THE SUN AND THE MOON Out of Tianare and Kistornas first litter of puppies, there were two that were constantly playing together. There was Hawa, a golden male, and Thua, a silver female. The two siblings were inseparable, and they were constantly coming up with new fun games to play. One day, they thought up the perfect game. It was called Chase, and the rule was you have to chase each other but not let yourself be touched by the other. The two pups ran in circles for hours, never touching each other but always chasing. Their spinning game made them tired, so they slowed down, but it was so much fun that they did not want to stop. As they grew, they continued to follow each other in slow circles, and they began to get in the way of things. Kistorna was becoming annoyed by his two children, angered by the fact that they had no purpose besides their endless game. He went to Tianare with his opinion, telling her that something had to be done with their two children. Tianare knew that they were a nuisance, and she tried to think of a way to make them helpful but still allow them to play their game. She spoke to Hawa and Thua as they continued to circle, and they said that if they had a place to play that was away from the den, then they would not be in the way. This gave the great wolf an idea. She saw that there was no place on the ground for them, but the sky held nothing. So she sent them into the vast darkness, and they played their endless game up there, no longer getting in the way. But Tianare was sad. She could not see her two beloved children. Kistorna could see his mate was distraught, and visited his children in the sky. There, he gave his son's coat a brilliant burning light, and he gave his daughter a reflective glow. They were so bright that even their footprints kept a twinkling light with them. When Kistorna returned to earth, he saw that his mate was overjoyed by this. Now the mother wolf could look up and see her children whenever she wanted. Still today, Hawa and Thua keep up their game of Chase. Hawa grew into a great and radiating light, becoming the sun, and Thua became a beautiful orb, her body becoming the moon.
